As well as turning over a tidy profit from the sale of the individual kindles Amazon are also in line to make a killing with additional booksales.
They promise that when you buy a book on Amazon it will be auto-delivered wirelessly to your handset in less than a minute.
Almost 90,000 books including 100 New York Times bestsellers are available to download as well as many top selling newspapers and magazines.
While e-reading devices have been on sale for a number of years it seems the kindle is a winner with many busy readers.
The easy to read screens and the size and weight of the device have also been complimented by users.
However not everyone is convinced with the issue of the cost being quoted as the main source of criticism.
Also Amazon charge owners when they load their own documents onto the kindle. Blogs cost almost a pound a month to view while newspapers can set you back £8 monthly.
Users say that having forked out the additional £194 these additional charges should not exist.
Another ciriticism is that the Kindle does not support the widely popular PDF format.
So before you rush to order Amazon's latest invention perhaps there are other considerations to take into account first.
