Once upon a time people were happy to go on holiday and lounge by the side of the swimming pool soaking up the Sun and sipping on a fruity though over-priced cocktail.

The thought of 'activity' was rubbished as 'relaxation' became the order of the day.

The modern tourist is a different animal though with more and more people wishing to enjoy as many different experiences as possible when away from their comfort zone.

Diving and other water activities have become big business and quickly inventors are picking up on the change in vacation desires.

The underwater camera has been around for some time but now designers have come up with a digital version for aqua-fun lovers!

There are a number of companies selling the digital cameras at the moment using promotional incentives such as:

" whether you are diving for treasure, shipwrecks or coral and aquatic life - this underwater digital camera is good for depths up to 35m. Suited for most water resistant uses . Also essential for the beach, by the pool and aquaparks, wherever there is water and you dont fancy taking your "dry land" camera, this is the perfect choice."

Also on the market is the 'Digital Underwater Camera Mask" (pictured right).

This device allows swimmers to record underwater photos and videos hands-free.

To take a photo or a video, all you need to do is to line up the crosshair marks on the mash with the object you want to record and then press a capture button.

LED lights within the viewing area indicate the mode the camera is in when activated by the swimmer.

You'll be able to download the digital images and video to a computer via the USB port. The Liquid Image Digital Underwater Camera Mask comes with 16MB of memory and an microSD slot for additional storage space.
