If the inevitable happens and Republic of Ireland manager Steve Staunton is axed by the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) this week you may well see dancing on the streets of Dublin.
Such is the growing animosity against the most capped Republic of Ireland player that supporters booed Staunton and his side from the Croke Park pitch after last week's lucky 1-1 draw with minnows Cyprus.
The FAI is widely expected to announce that Staunton will no longer be manager on Tuesday fuelling rumours about possible successors.
Former Leeds United and Aston Villa manager David O'Leary is the firm favourite though his appointment would not be welcomed by large sections of Irish supporters either.
On Sunday Roy Keane ruled out going for the Irish job saying he "had enough on his plate at the Stadium of Light."
Others in contention should Stan get the bullet are John Aldridge, Graeme Souness, Paul Jewell, Steve Coppell and Gerard Houllier.
