PREMIERSHIP

Agbonlahor.jpg

If Arsenal are to maintain their lead at the top of the Premiership this weekend then they will have to deal with a one 'Gabriel Agbonlahor'.

The 21-year-old Brummie has been in sensational form for Martin O' Neill's men hitting the back of the net six times so far this season.

Though he didn't score in Aston Villa's amazing 4-0 away win to Blackburn Rovers mid week the striker has been crucial to his side's cause this season.

The England U-21 International who came through the Academy at Aston Villa scored against title chasers Chelsea earlier in the season and will be aiming to do the same against Arsene Wegner's side on Saturday.

Arsenal lost their first game of the season mid week in the Champion's League against Sevilla and their current form has taken something of a dip.

Wenger rested striker Emmanuel Adebayor and defender William Gallas for that game but they are expected to return for the clash with Villa who are now up to sixth in the table.

Crucially the Gunner's driving source Cesc Fabregas will miss this all important tie for the league leaders.

With Manchester United not playing until Monday night Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all have the opportunity to leap frog the defending Champions.

City make the short journey to Wigan Athletic where Steve Bruce will take charge for the first time.

That feel good factor should make life difficult for Sven's men and their away record in the Premiership has been poor so far. In six away games City have won just once.

Emile Heskey (pictured left) is expected to return for the Latics while Man City's star player Elano will miss the tie with a hamstring injury.

An intriguing clash lies in wait at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as West Ham United travel across London to battle for points with the Blues.

Chelsea are undoubtedly the Premiership's form team at the moment and if they win on Saturday it will be their 70th unbeaten home game at the Bridge.

West Ham United are on a good run themselves though and are unbeaten in six games in all competitions.

Fresh from their vital 4-1 win over FC Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday Liverpool welcome Bolton Wanderers to Anfield.

Under big Sam Allardyce Bolton had a great record against the Reds and new boss Gary Megson will be hoping history repeats itself tomorrow.trophy.jpg
